IDRC 2018 continues the long term format in which registrants attend morning and evening sessions, while afternoons are free to enjoy the area’s many attractions. Technical presentations are designed to provide insight into current issues for industrial users, strategies in choosing spectral engines, considerations in using standards, and a look into the future of spectroscopy. State-of-the-art equipment will be displayed by vendors and poster presentations will stimulate yet more discussion, sometimes well beyond conference hours.

Sessions and arrangements this year are particularly enhanced for students using NIRS in their work or future careers.

Come join us in Chambersburg this summer! Whether you are working in the lab or beyond the lab, your time at IDRC 2018 will be enjoyable and worthwhile!

Location
Since its inception in 1982, the IDRC has been held on the picturesque 300-acre campus of Wilson College in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in south central Pennsylvania. Chambersburg’s small-town charm and historical significance provide a delightful backdrop and relaxed atmosphere for the conference’s scientific rigor.

The extremely economical “full” and “student” registration fees include on-site accommodations with clean, well-supplied dormitory rooms, all meals, and the best overall “Chambersburg Conference experience.” Most of the rooms are now air-conditioned. Alternate hotel accommodations are available within a few minutes’ driving time.

IDRC (aka The Chambersburg Conference) follows the “Gordon Conference” format: the registrants attend plenary morning and evening sessions, with afternoons free for elective activities. This allows a unique opportunity for informal interaction with highly accomplished professionals in the field. Since 1982, this unique conference has offered the opportunity to forge lifelong professional relationships and friendships.
