All technical presentations are by carefully chosen invited speakers to ensure scientific quality and relevance. The sessions are designed to be highly inter-disciplinary to stimulate new ideas and to provoke in-depth discussions. The conference format (with free afternoons, meals together, and extended late-evening social times) grants participants substantial opportunities for engaging speakers to further explore their key concepts. The moderate conference size (limited by facilities to about 150 participants) and the IDRC tradition of open communication among scientists further contribute to forging new professional relationships, collaborations, and friendships.
This year, in addition to the annual poster presentation session, in both student and experienced categories, there will be a technical session dedicated to presentations by students and emerging scientists. We want the best new ideas, research and applications to be presented to the NIRS community.
